The Observatory of the Ebro offers a contract for doctor in physics, environmental sciences, meteorology, climate or similar.
Extensive experience in the study of physical processes in the interface between soil, vegetation and the atmosphere and their simulation by land surface model (LSM). Experience in the validation and analysis of the results of LSM simulations in applications related to soil moisture and / or water resources. Experience in physical hydrology and simulation of streamflows. Advanced knowledge and experience in Linux (shell scripts), Fortran programming and scripting languages (R or Python) in scientific contexts. Ability to analyze data in formats commonly used in this field (Netcdf) and the tools to treat them. Experience with geographic information systems (GIS) will be assessed. Participation in congresses and scientific publications are required. A good level of communication in English is essential. Catalan and / or Spanish is necessary. Written comprehension of the French language will be appreciated (part of the technical documentation to be used is written in this language).
Responsibilities: The contracted person will be integrated in the subline of physical hydrology, meteorology and climate, carrying out tasks of development and validation of the SASER model and will collaborate in the scientific projects in course in which this model is used.
Remuneration: € 973.00 gross per month.
Type of contract: Temporary part-time contract (20 hours a week).
Contract period: Incorporation on September 1, 2017 and completion on February 28, 2018.
